Getting Started

HappyOrNot Smiley Digital products include a Smiley Digital Pop-up and a Smiley Digital Embed that allow your customers or employees to provide feedback for your survey question by selecting one of the four smileys. Additional insights can also be collected with follow-up options and open feedback. Smiley Digital products can be placed on any page of your website, intranet, or other HTML capable applications and devices.

Smiley Digital Pop-up is a digital feedback survey that pops up on a web page as it loads by means of a small piece of JavaScript code added to the source code of the page.

Smiley Digital Embed is a digital feedback survey that is positioned in a fixed area of a web page by means of adding two small pieces of JavaScript code to the source code of the page, one at the end of the body and one to the place where the embedded element is shown.

The JavaScript code itself is identical for both products, but each Smiley Digital panel has a unique token. The token is the identification key used to connect the Smiley Digital product in real-time with its active survey, so that the results can be seen in HappyOrNot Reporting. The script also includes the language settings for the panel.

HappyOrNot will deliver the ready-made version of the script to the customer, including the correct token and language settings. If needed, the token and language settings can later be changed by the customer by editing the variables in the script.

The same Smiley Digital token can be used on multiple web pages, in which case survey results are grouped together in the same report. Note that in that case it is impossible to identify from which specific web page the feedback is coming from. Creating separate reports for different web pages requires multiple Smiley Digital panels, each with its own token.
